In less than a week, the team tackled two 42.2K races (along with a half)! Here’s how we did:
Boston Marathon
H+P had 4 speedy ladies representing us in the 2016 Boston Marathon. Kailey battled the warm temperatures and came in first for H+P with a great new personal best of 3:17:48.
Both Andrea and Erin were coming off of a lengthly hiatus from consistent run training. Both runners were therefore treating this a fun run. However, seeing as these two have PBs well under 3:10, their relaxed paces were still impressive. Erin ran 3:24 and Andrea ran 3:32.
Anne had a very solid first marathon ever, running 3:59. She struggled with a toe that split open during the race that resulted in running without a shoe for a few miles before she could get proper treatment. She battled through and still was able to break 4 hours though, and vows she is seeking revenge on the distance!
Waterloo Marathon
In the full, Rob and Val were both last minute entries who decided to use the race as a tough training effort. Good thing they did because they both won OA! Rob finished 1st in 2:39, while Val finished first for women in 3:19.
Steve also had another solid day of mileage running a strong 3:38 in preparation for his upcoming ultras.
Waterloo Half
Jan hit a great new PB, running 1:33, good for 11th OA and 1st in his AG.
Trevor Boss also ran a very strong new PB of 1:40, placing 25th OA and 5th in his AG.
Up next for the team: Mississauga and Toronto Half/Full marathons!
