It was a unique year for the RunWaterloo ENDURrace – because of an unprecedented ice storm, the 5km was canceled and moved to the same evening as the 8km. H+Pers embraced the new race format and jumped at the chance to tackle both distances less than two hours apart. Most of us took advantage of the double-header to get in a solid workout and long run, grabbing some wins and prizes along the way. Here’s how we did:
Aidan ran a solid 17:03 5k and 30:19 8k to finish 6th overall in the combined results.
Coach Sean also ran both events as a part of his long run, finishing 5th overall in the combined results.
Dave ran a 19:09 5k and 32:36 8k, good for 12th OA and 1st in his AG for the combined races.
Brad finished the 5k race in 19:23, running an H+P Career Best ranking time and placing 1st in his AG!
Robyn Robyn won the combined event OA for women with a 19:27 5k and a 31:21 8k. Impressively, she also set a new course record for the event AND set the new H+P Masters Women 8k record!
Kailey improved her average H+P ranking time by a massive 20 seconds with her 19:34 5k time, which also earned her a H+P C Standard. She finished 3rd OA in the combined race results!
Vicki was one of many who treated these races as a workout, and still finished 4th OA in the combined race!
Trevor ran a new 8k PB of 35:59 after racing the 5k!
Jessica proved that she’s a warrior in this race – after falling early in the 8k race, she went on to finish as 6th woman in the 8k and 5th woman in the combined results!
Jonah also ran both the 5k and the 8k, finishing 1st in his AG in the combined results.
Sam ran the 5k with his daughter Ruby, narrowly beating her to the line!
Sandi also had a solid race, tackling both the 5k and the 8k.
Congrats to all who raced, and thanks to Jule of RunWaterloo for the amazing pictures!
