Race Weekend (April 30th-May 1st, 2016)

This past weekend, Southern Ontario was treated with an array of road races to kickoff the beginning of May.  With no specific team race, H+P was all over the placing competing in a number of these events in large numbers!  Here’s how we did:

MudPuppy Chase

10K

Our Rankings

Coach Dyce came in 2nd OA and 1st in his AG with a strong 34:59 time.

Nick was in right behind Greg in 35:10, good for 3rd OA and 1st in his AG.

luke

5K

Our Rankings

Luke was in first for the team with a strong 17:34, good for 7th OA and 2nd in his AG.

Robyn was in next an a massive new PB of 19:41, good for 3rd OA for females and 1st in her AG.

Steve came in next with a strong 19:54, good for 15th OA and 2nd in his AG.

Maddie Hobson was back in action after a long hiatus, running 25:08 and placing 9th in her AG.

Samara Hergott ran an excellent 36 minute 5K to kick off her 2016!

Goodlife Marathon

Our Rankings

Holger came in with yet another solid, consistent result.  He battled tough winds to come in at 3:10, good for 10th in his AG.

Chris Goldsworthy was in next.  For a guy who runs less than 50K/week, he still posted an amazing 3:15 finish.

Brian McGrath battled the tough conditions to take 5 minutes off his marathon time from last year, running a very solid 3:36!

Goodlife Half

Our Rankings

Coach Sean came in 12th OA and 3rd in his AG with a time of 1:16:32.

Coach Gill was in next for the team with a MASSIVE NEW CLUB RECORD and PB of 1:28:58!  This was good for 7th OA for women and 1st in her AG.

Janice Cooper has an outstanding race, posting a 1:38 and placing 7th in her very deep and competitive AG.

Mississauga Half

Our Rankings

Runner Rob posted an oustanding and massive new PB of 1:10 which was good enough to win the race OA!

Kim battled injury leading into this race, but still managed a great 1:48 finish.

Schulyer came in with a very strong new PB of 3:31!

Le Chocolat Half

Kayla ran a very strong 1:42, a massive new PB by almost 7 minutes!

5-Peaks Terra Cotta

Sport Results

Jon Fugelsang posted a very solid 24:04 for the technical 5.4K.  This was over 2 minutes faster than his time from last year and good for 7th OA in a very deep field.

Justin Buis, coming off of a new injury (was this your first run back??) posted a great 27 minutes, placing 24th OA.

Enduro Results

Just coming off her awesome marathon win in Waterloo, Val Hobson crushed the technical 10.8K course in 54 minutes.  This brought her in 5th OA for women and 2nd in her AG!

Cambridge Mill 8K

Our Rankings

Martin ran an outstanding 33:01, good for 4th in his AG and 8th OA.

 

Congrats team, what an unbelievable weekend!  Here’s hoping that we have more like that to come.
