Race Weekend: Sept. 24th-25th

As we gear up for our big team fall goals at the Chicago Marathon and the Run Waterloo Fall Classic, we had a number of different athletes priming their legs at different races.  Here’s how we did:

Zoo Run

This highly competitive race held by the Canadian Running Series was WON by Erin McClure with an outstanding time of 35:47.  This is especially impressive given the winding and highly nature of this course.

The top 5 on our team (consisting of coach Gill, Holger, Graham, Howie, Eric) won the team event with an average time of 1:39.  Check out the Run Waterloo Recap HERE.

In the half Coach Gillian surprised as a last minute entrant and managed to walk away with a great new 1:28:40 PB and OA win for women (along with $200 cash!).

Using the half as a primer for Chicago, Holger ran a solid 1:34, good for 1st in his AG and 8th OA.

Graham was using this race as a progression/tempo effort as her preps for Run for the Toad, coming in with perfect execution and a finish time of 1:42.  This gave him 2nd in his AG and 18th OA.

Howie was also using this as a primer for Chicago, running a tempo effort but still coming within seconds of a life-time PB.  He placed 3rd in his AG with a 1:44 finish.

Jody Rice ran a very strong 1:45:56, good for 4th in his AG!

Eric was back in action for the first time since Chicopee, running a great 1:48.
