The time has come- we’re a mere 16 weeks from many of our fall A-goals. July, August with fine-tuning in September is how massive PBs happen in October. Heat is up, paces will be challenging, and the spike in volume will be a shock to the system- but those who stick with it will be reaping the benefits in 4 months time.

FINAL BLOCK- WEEK 7 of 8
The taper is on! There’s a huge range here, adjust based on how you feel…but keep in mind when you’re the close to race day, it’s really easy to do too much, and pretty hard to do not enough (if you’re showing up and doing at least some of the workout).
- 10-20’ WU jog
- 5x100m strides
- 2×5’ @ HMP, 2’ easy
- 3’ easy
- 2-5×4’ @ 5-10K pace, 2’ easy
- 3’ easy
- 0-4×1’ faster than 5K, 1’ easy
- CD- your choice
Marathoners- Full volume.
TRACK OPTION
- Warm up
- 2 laps of jog the corners, stride the straights
- 2×1200 @ HMP, 400 easy
- 400 easy
- 2-5x1K @ 5-10K, 400m easy
- 400m easy
- 0-4x400m @ 5K, 200-400m easy
