It may be the offseason, but we’re still finding fun ways to compete and stay (relatively) fit here at H+P! To keep running fun and interesting during the dark days of November, we decided to target the RunWaterloo Musagetes 5K for a a little H+P vs. H+P battling!
For this challenge, we decided to split the teams up based on schools our members graduated from or have a associations with. Once we had all of our members register, we came with with 4 very solid teams:
H+P/Other Universities vs.
How will the victorious team(s) be crowned? Here are the rules!
Competition #1: The top-5 average time
-Each team will take the average time from their top 5 athletes. The lowest average wins.
-0-2 unners in the top 5 can come from men under 40.
-The three (or more) remaining runners must be masters runners or female runners.
– Each team must include at least ONE female runner and ONE masters athlete.
Competition #2: XC-Style Scoring
-The finish position of each athlete OA will be added up for each team. The team with the lowest total wins.
– This finish position also includes those NOT running for H+P (i.e. scoring doesn’t only include people in this competition)
– 9 total athletes will score for each team (I’m not sure if WLU will actually have 10 finishers, so we’ll go with 9 to be safe)
