Training:
We’re still sticking with one session/week. However, we’re now giving either a HM-M type workout option vs. a 5-10K focus option. These will gradually differ by more as we progress over the next 8-12 weeks. It’s not an exact science, and really a 5-10K athlete could benefit form the longer workouts and vice versa. If you’re unsure of how to best implement these workouts, let us know!
H+P FULL VOLUME WORKOUT (5-10K option)
15-25 minutes WU jog
5x100m strides
2×5 minutes @ 10K effort, 3 minutes easy
5 minutes easy
2×5 minutes as follows:
- First 4 minutes @ 10K effort, final 1 minute VERY hard, 3 minutes easy
15 minutes easy CD

15-25 minutes WU jog
5x100m strides
15 minutes tempo @ slow-end HM effort
5 minutes easy
2×5 minutes tempo @ 10K effort, 3 minutes shuffle
10-20 minutes CD jog
