Oh my goodness…things seriously may have gotten even MORE interesting in this relay race! FULL RESULTS.
It’s safe to say that our athletes 100% delivered on this tough 10-miler course! Greg Cartmell posted a strong 1:01:13 to put the men’s team about 2.5 minutes ahead of record pace! Gillian absolutely CRUSHED her stage running 1:08:14- a mere 14s off of event record time! This was good to push the Women’s A-Team into 2nd OA. Jon F ran a very strong 1:07:33 to rocket their team into 3rd OA and within 3 minutes of record pace. H+P now sits 1,2,3,4,5,6 OA in the relay race!
It looks like the Men’s A team is going to win, but can anybody predict spots 2-5 overall? Who is going to be 2nd OA- the women’s team? The masters men? Men’s C? Or can a strong anchor from Aidan pop men’s B all the way to 2nd OA? Also, can we really count out the Master Men’s B team?
In the Men’s A and Women’s B vs. Women’s A and Men’s B challenge, Greg and Anne vs. Gillian and Andrew proved to be a VERY close showdown. Combined there was only a 1:35 advantage for Greg and Anne as the gap between these two teams still sits at a small 14:46 after over 164K or racing/team. Full Results.
The masters squad (Brian, Heather Jon F) absolutely dropped the hammer today! Despite great runs from Nate, Howie and Mark, the wile vets were able to build on their lead which now sits at 1:18:23. Full Results.
RECORD ATTEMPTS:
Greg gave the boys a fighting chance at the club record! They now sit 2:39 ahead of pace…but with lots of racing still to go! Full Results.
With Coach Gillian dropping the hammer, the ladies now sit over 7 minutes ahead event record pace! BOOM! Full Results.
Jon F threw down an amazing 1:07 performance which puts these vets back within record pace. They now are only 2:54 back! Full Results.
Heather Dixon had a great 1:22 performance for the women’s masters team as they STILL sit within striking distance of the record. Full Results.
INTERESTING BATTLES:
The men’s B team ain’t going down without a fight! With a very strong race from Andrew, they were able to close 12 minutes on the men’s C team, and now are only 10 minutes back in this challenge. Full Results.
Aidan was able to put SOME but not much time between him and his pops of 2012. He now has a 1:40 lead with lots of racing to go! Full Results.

We are loving this! What a testament to the depth of the club over the last few years! The masters men’s B team now sits 2:21 AHEAD of our Masters Men’s A-team of 2016! Amazing! Full Results.
ULTIMATE:
What another amazing stage in this epic battle! H+P men still hold 2nd (Aidan) and 4th (Nick OA)! Thaddeus has now moved up into the top 10 with another strong showing which now puts 5 H+Pers (including Val and Robyn) in the top 10! Ian is right there in 11th fighting to make it 6 in the top 10.
On the women’s side, H+P still holds 1,2,3 and 4th OA. How lucky are we to have such strong and fast women on this squad? Val and Robyn battled hard today with Robyn gapping her by less than a minute once again (now 2:32 overall) Full Results.
Merzi fought hard to still hold his place in the top 15 making sure H+P still have 7 in there! Full Results.
