H+P Athlete of the Month: July 2019

It’s time for another H+P athlete of the month award as chosen by our 2018 MVPs and 4 runners up as voted by our members along with coach Sean and Gill.

The athlete of the month best exhibits:

-An amazing level of performance (which can mean from a pure performance standpoint OR personal improvement)

-Contribution to the club in a way that makes it better for all

-Actions that help to make our members feel good, stay motivated and continue to strive toward our goal of bringing athletes of all abilities together

On that note, the winner for July 2019 is…Ola Mabifa!

Ola has had an awesome month with the club.  He sets a great example to follow with bringing his entire family of 6 out to every practice.  He also brought them all out to Trackfest where he then raced along side them and proceeded to post a new PB in the 5K in hot conditions.  On top of that, he puts in a lot of work outside of the club to contribute to the running community as he help run the Kitchener Park Runs.
Jeremey Haak is one of our runners up this month!  Has been an awesome organizer of the cycling TT all summer a long and topped it off with leading the complicated timing duties at Trackfest.  He also has stepped up and taken somebody’s spot who had to drop out of ENDURrun on limited run training.  Talk about being a great teammate!
Adam Dixon was another runner this month  After years of triathlon, he took the plunge and completed his first IM in a respectable time just over 11 hours.  Bonus points for being close to one of the original members and consistent with practices ever since.  He also has a laid back, hardworking, positive vibe that is a great influence on those around him!
Thanks for helping to make our club great!
