H+P VIRTUAL WEEK – June 21st, 2021

Training:

Less than two weeks until we hit the  FiveBy5K challenge .  This will be our last massive workout week before we dial it back again for a few down weeks- make these count!

Once again, we’re including your strength session from physio Kayla Ng!


Workouts for the week:

H+P FULL VOLUME WORKOUT  (5-10K option)

15-25 minutes WU jog

5x100m strides

5′ tempo @ HM effort

3-5′ easy

3-4×6′ with 2-3′ recovery

  • For each 6′ first 4′ @ 10K effort, final 2′ @ 5K+ effort

15 minutes easy CD



H+P FULL VOLUME WORKOUT  (HM-M option)

15-25 minutes WU jog

5x100m strides

15-20′ @ MP

5′ easy

2-3×5′ @ 10K-HM effort, 90s recovery

10-20 minutes CD jog

Strength Session from Kayla Ng:

Remember- these are generally good to complete 1-2x/week.  If you’re unsure of how to periodize this with the goals you have coming up, let me know.  Enjoy!

3 sets:
1. Split lunge (back leg on a step/coffee table) Add weights to both hands if you have weights! 10x/leg
2. Goblet squats x15 (grab a weight and hold close to chest!)
3. Elevated push ups (feet on a step) x10
2 sets:
1. Front plank x45s with feet on a step
2. Side plank x45s with feet on a step
