H+P Athlete of the Month: June 2019

It’s time for another H+P athlete of the month award as chosen by our 2018 MVPs and 4 runners up as voted by our members along with coach Sean and Gill.

The athlete of the month best exhibits:

-An amazing level of performance (which can mean from a pure performance standpoint OR personal improvement)

-Contribution to the club in a way that makes it better for all

-Actions that help to make our members feel good, stay motivated and continue to strive toward our goal of bringing athletes of all abilities together

On that note, the winner for June 2019 is…Jon Finn!

Jon has had an awesome month of June coming off of an outstanding spring.  After conquering a tough injury and running a 1:22 half in Mississauga as a masters runner, he continues to thrive into the summer.  He hit the H+P C standard on the tough Waterloo Classic course running 39:17.  He is also always an asset to those around him with his contagious work ethic, pleasant attitude and encouragement!

A huge congrats also goes out to our runners’ up, Lindsay Howes and Antoine Gauthier!

Lindsay has proven to be a super positive, supportive and encouraging teammate.  She is basically PBing everything in 2019 including hitting her 10k best at the Waterloo Classic.  She has also been throwing down some very inspirational training on her Strava account as of late!
Antoine also had a great June, placing 5th in his AG at Classic, 3rd OA in Rugged Raccoon 25k and topped it off with a 13th OA in 50k Glacier Ridge Trail ultra.  He has a great, positive attitude and inspires us with his willingness to do everything from 5ks to 50 milers
Thanks for helping to make our club great!
