It was a dreary October morning- not ideal for standing around, but definitely great conditions for fast running. With a strong NE wind, lots of runners posted strong second halves to their races hitting some PBs along the way.
Here are some highlights:

On the mens’ side, Ian M took home the win with a new PB and H+P B-Standard of 1:16:56. Graham Stonebridge was 2nd OA, while Ken MacAlpine posted a H+P Masters B-Standard to come in 3rd OA, first masters (1:22:39).
The only other standard on the day was Ian G with the H+P C Standard, running 1:23:20.
D’Arcy Arrends posted an awesome time of 1:34:42 to take the OA win. Val Hobson was close behind (1:35:57) for second OA and claiming our top masters spot. Lumi Duci was 3rd in 1:38:36. Props to Val and Lumi for not only doing this as masters runners, but as 50+ athletes!
According to our records (which may be incomplete), 17 athletes hit personal bests on the day. Check them out HERE. If you see a lightning bolt, it’s a PB. If you see a star, it’s your best race ever across all distances according to our calculations. Congrats to you all!
A massive thanks to our volunteers! It was cold and dark, and really it was a long time for these brave souls to be out there. Thanks to Jeremy, Adrienne and Larissa for the efforts with timing. Carey, Meredith, Kristina and Jocelyn did an awesome job as marshalls while Brian kept us safe as the trailing cyclist. And of course, Julie (RunWaterloo), Ryan McGovern and Will did amazing work with their photography. You guys rock!
Thanks to everybody who helped make this a fun one in our COVID world. Onwards to the next one!
