Running Workouts for the week:

Final fall push: We’re here!  It’s hard to believe but after a summer of hard work, we are in the final push for our big fall goals.  With racing happening all over the place, make sure to modify these workouts based on when your race is going down!  As a general run it’s good to decrease the workout volume by 1/3 2 weeks out and 1/2 or more the week of.  Here we go!

H+P FULL VOLUME WORKOUT  (Race block Week 1 of 6):

10-15′ WU
5x100m strides
3′ easy
15′ tempo @ HMP
5′ easy
1-2×5′ @ 10K effort, 2′ easy
10-15′ CD

FULL VOLUME MARATHON OPTION: Top up with a 10-15′ tempo @ HMP after your 2×5′!

TRACK VERSION

15-20 jog

2 laps of jog the corners, stride the straights

2-4K tempo @ HMP

800m easy

2x1200K @ 10K effort with 400′ easy

CD 10-15

MARATHON OPTION: top up with another 2-4K tempo @ HMP
